Nuneaton is the largest town in Warwickshire. Nuneaton grew gradually from the 17th century onwards from the coalfields to the textiles industry and many more including making bricks and tiles. Nuneaton’s name originally came from the ancient abbey church built in 1150 and it is also famous for George Elliot who was a famous author. The textiles and manufacturing industry declined post war but electronics and distributions remain as major economic activities in the town.
Ropewalk shopping centre was a huge development opened in 2005. Nuneaton also benefits from great commuter links to Coventry and Birmingham.
